"Buddhists argue that nothing is constant, everything changes through time, you have a constantly changing stream of consciousness, and from a neuroscience perspective, the brain and body is constantly in flux. There's nothing that corresponds to the sense that there's an unchanging self."
Evolving is part of the human nature. We all evolve, whether more slowly or faster than others, it happens. Whether or not we choose to evolve in this life or not is our choice; but the Universe, whatever higher being you may acknowledge, will always have opportunity for you to grab hold of and run with.
Evolve is a verb, an action step that we all need to be taking daily. 2018 brought much growth and possibility that we took EVERY advantage of. We have been faced with fear every step of the way, but each time we decide to go forward, another avenue seems to open up. Jump, and the net will appear, they say. Well...the net has been appearing.
The Simple Sprout became an official LLC company just one month ago. The irony is that the company has been developing for years, as Laura & I have spent the time to become the women we are proud of. The Simple Sprout has been in the works every day that we were putting time and effort into our selves; this means The Simple Sprout couldn't be what it is without who we are. The Law of Attraction has brought us together, and brought the company to where it is now, and what it will become in the future. We all have the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. Through the power of the mind, we can materialize our thoughts into reality...positive OR negative.
The last couple of years have brought personal knowledge that nothing is permanent and everything changes. We have come to understand that we have more power and influence than we thought we did, and have acknowledged our worth regarding the women we are most proud of being. We've had to strip the layers, but this year taught us how to push past judgements, and see ourselves in the most raw possible way. Being one with who we are, rather than wishing our mind, body, or spirit were something else...THIS has been enlightening. THIS has made the chopping wood and carrying water all worth it.
So HOW do you evolve? HOW can you walk into the New Year with confidence regarding change?
Evolving means committing yourself to growth in all areas of your life - Mind, Body, Spirit, Lifestyle, Relationships, Career, etc. People that evolve - in my eyes - are brilliant, intelligent, bewildering in a beautiful way and brave.
You take ACTION.
You stay in the MOMENT. BE present.
Try, try, AGAIN. Always persistent.
Find authenticity in being your TRUE self.
SHED old layers. Forgiveness is freeing.
Resistance to change will ALWAYS come as we try to step into our power. That is just the law of opposition; push and pull, ebb and flow. But walking toward our intuition, moving in a direction we know has been handmade for us: that is where the power begins to form. From the earth, into our senses, and pretty soon we are in a place we never thought possible.
Evan continues ..."In neuroscience, you'll often come across people who say the self is an illusion created by the brain. My view is that the brain and the body work together in the context of our physical environment to create a sense of self. And it's misguided to say that just because it's a construction, it's an illusion."
The self evolves. It is not set. It is not stagnant. It is flexible, malleable, and can be changed as we are open to a new awareness. 2019 is an opportunity for new awareness. The impermanence of all things allows for the evolution of the self.
The self is never stuck.
We hope that in your quest for enlightenment, you never give up chopping wood and carrying water. Once you find enlightenment, the repetition must continue. Do your work, do it well, and when you find success, do it again.
"There are two kinds of people. One kind, you can just tell by looking at them at what point they congealed into their final selves. It might be a very nice self, but you know you can expect no more suprises from it. Whereas, the other kind keep moving, changing... They are fluid. They keep moving forward and making new trysts with life, and the motion of it keeps them young. In my opinion, they are the only people who are still alive. You must be constantly on your guard against congealing."

Happy New Year, y'all!
We'll see you in 2019, hopefully a little more evolved <3
